Lesson 4 Can Scribbler Write?

Introduction

How do robots communicate? Can they learn to write?
The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to use the Motion Tile to turn the robot. You will also learn how Scribbler gets its name by creating a drawing.

Objectives/Outcomes:

1. Program the Scribbler Robot to spin around and turn in circles

2. Create drawings with Scribbler using a Pen in the pen port

3. Use the Motion tile to control Scribbler movement

4. Navigate a maze by programming Scribbler actions

5. Describe how the direction of wheels change to draw circles

6. Describe how modifying the speed of each wheel effects how the robot moves

7. Describe how to draw an S shape using the Scribbler

8. Calculate the time needed for the Scribbler to draw different sizes of circles and arcs

9. Develop a table that defines the time and speed needed to correspond to size of circles and arcs drawn

10. Define and be able to measure the diameter, radius, and circumference of a circle
