Activity 15 – Let’s Do the Hokey Pokey

Yes, that is right…your Scribbler CAN dance. Besides being kind of cute, the Scribbler can really shake a leg…or wheel as the case may be. By combining music and movement and some creative programming methods, we can have Scribbler run a pretty advanced dance routine.

Pre-Activity Check List:

  • A scribbler robot with charged Batteries.
  • Scribbler Connected to your computer via USB cable and USB to Serial Adapter.
  • An area where you can place the Scribbler to dance.

Activity Steps:

  1. Open the Scribbler Program Maker on your computer.
  2. Visit this video link and watch the short (7 minute clip that will show you how you can get the Scribbler to do the Hokey Pokey Dance.
  3. Start with a blank program or use the Clear button to clear the program
  4. Upload and test your program. If you have any issues with timing or missteps, it is ok.  Even robots can have two left feet some times. Review your program and see if you can make it the best Hokey Pokey ever.
  5. Save your program.
